Cars and Sunset

PCA SDR is trying something different and we invite you to join the fun. Cars and Conversations have been going very well but have you been wishing for an event later in the day? Well, here's your chance to enjoy your Porsches along with a beautiful fall San Diego sunset.

We will begin the event by meeting at the Mission Bay parking lot by the De Anza Cove Park where we will conduct the safety debrief and check everybody in. From here, we will convoy to Silver Strand State Beach.

PCA SDR has reserved a parking lot just for this event so you will not be driving around looking for parking. Once arrived, you're free to park your car and enjoy the evening watching the sunset with your fellow Porsche friends. Please feel free to bring chairs, blankets, jackets, light snacks, cameras, tripods, picnic baskets, etc to make your evening as enjoyable as possible.

Price is $10 per person on motorsportreg.com and about $15 parking per car which will be paid by you at the kiosks. Unfortunately, no-shows and late arrivals will not be refunded so don't be late as we will leave promptly. You must meet at the starting point at the Mission Bay parking lot by the De Anza Cove Park to sign waivers and receive wristbands. Unfortunately, there is no option to meet directly at the Silver Strand State Beach.

Saturday, September 7th

If you are a PCA member and will be driving a Porsche, you're eligible to register for this convoy and event. When registering, please be sure to register each person attending as the price is $10 per person. Please arrive at the starting point fully gassed or fully charged.

The convoy will start from the Mission Bay parking lot by the De Anza Cove Park located at 3000 N Mission Bay Dr., San Diego. From there, we will drive 5 South. We will cross over the Coronado Bridge and turn left on Orange Ave and continue towards Silver Strand State Beach along Silver Strand Blvd/CA-75. 

Event schedule

4:45-5:15pm ... Meet/greet - check in and sign the PCA paper waiver (Speedwaiver NOT required)

5:15-5:30pm ... Mandatory drivers meeting (If you miss the drivers meeting you will not be permitted to participate on the tour, so PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE!!)

5:30pm … Tour departs promptly with or without you

6:15pm … Arrival, pay about $15 parking fee, park and enjoy

7:04:45pm ... sunset

7:29:16pm ... dusk

8:00pm ... conclusion of event

The event concludes at 8:00 pm but you may depart for home whenever you wish as you are on your own for the return drive.

Please note that there is a limit of 100 people for this event so don't delay. If we reach our 100 people limit, please continue to register and join the waitlist. If enough people are on the waitlist, I can contact the city about allowing additional people.

Please know that when you’re attending these events, you’re representing Porsche Club of America San Diego Region and the greater Porsche community. The locations that we select are all in our own neighborhoods with many folks walking around whether it be with kids, dogs, grand parents, friends, tourists, etc. With that being said, please enter/exit the event and community in a calm, safe, respectful, quiet, and responsible manner. That means no revving your engine. No loud music. No speeding. No Tokyo Drifting. Hopefully, you get the message.

We do not want to receive complaints and then jeopardize these events as they have been very well received. Please do not be the one to ruin it for the rest of us.

Lastly, since there is only one of me, if you witness someone doing anything that jeopardizes the event, please call them out on the spot and bring it to my attention. We’re all in this together and sometimes, it takes a village.

Please know that with your attendance, you’re agreeing by negative consent that your voice, name, and/or likeness may be used without compensation in any and all media whether now known or hereafter, advised for eternity and you release Porsche Club of America and its partners, its successors, assigns and licensees from any liability whatsoever of any nature. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please do not attend this event.
